2021 GIANT SUKKAH BUILD

Kevin is getting ready to begin building one of the largest sukkahs ever built out of LEGO this fall.  This life-size LEGO sukkah will be made from over 20,000 LEGO bricks and stand nearly 8 feet tall!  Keep reading below to learn more and find out how you can help support this awesome LEGO project!

UPDATE: 9-22-21

GIANT LEGO SUKKAH UPDATE:  Starting today around 4 pm.  We are going to put all the sections together that we have done to build the frame of the LEGO sukkah.  Then we'll work on the sides, branches on top, and decorating!

UPDATE: 9-21-21

GIANT LEGO SUKKAH UPDATE:  We're building again tonight, so stop on by after 7pm if you want to help!

Smaller turn out tonight, but we still made some great progress.  All of the sections needed to construct the frame of the sukkah are complete.  We also got a great start on the plates for the sides.  I will be back tomorrow starting at 4pm and we're going to start putting all the sections together, then decorate.  Stop on by if you want to help!

UPDATE: 9-13-21

GIANT LEGO SUKKAH UPDATE:  Only 1 week left until we build the world's largest LEGO sukkah at Baruch Hashem Congregation in San Antonio on 9/20 at 3pm!  If you are planning to come here's something you can work on in the meantime: take a large LEGO baseplate (16x16, 16x32, 32x32, or 48x48) and decorate it with LEGO pieces any way you want.  Just remember to keep it mostly flat, like a picture!  We will display your LEGO sukkot picture with the sukkah and then you will get it back after sukkot.

HAPPY YOM TERUAH/FEAST OF TRUMPETS!!

GIANT LEGO SUKKAH UPDATE:  Baruch Hashem congregation in San Antonio, TX will be hosting the Giant LEGO Sukkah build event this year!  It will be happening on Monday, September 20, 2021.  The plan is to start mid-afternoon, so if your kids are in school they can still come help out after school.  We need your help, so if you're in the area, please stop by!

PROJECT OVERVIEW

The vision for this awesome project is to build a life-size sukkah out of just LEGO pieces.  It will be able to stand on its own and support its own weight.  Ideally it will be displayed in an indoor location during the week+ of Sukkot 2021.  The project is being developed and managed by Kevin The Master Builder and designed so that it can be built as a group event with a whole community helping build it, one section at a time.  This build event should last for a few hours and would happen within 1 afternoon or evening, making for a great kick-off party for Sukkot 2021!  If your community would like to get involved, continue reading.

Kevin is volunteering his time for this project, but there are still a lot of costs involved. Support is both needed and appreciated.

Funds and supplies for this project are needed right away so that we can start procuring all the LEGO pieces needed to pull it off in time for Sukkot this fall. If we raise more than the goal amout, we will make the sukkah even bigger! So please donate today!
